ALBARIÑO MAR DE FRADES
All the expression of the Albariño grape. A fruity wine with marine reminiscences that seduces us with its elegant freshness.
HARVEST : after a dry winter a very rainy spring arrived, and the the number of buds was small as the plant and soils were exhausted after such an abundant harvest the year before. Fruit setting was irregular and some mildew appeared which was treated immediately. August and September were dry and sunny and the harvest was carried out on the usual dates. Very few quantities of grapes were obtained but of a very good quality.
VINIFICATION: The hand sorting of the grapes at reception discarded 15% of the total grapes due to the differences in ripening level. A 60% of the total grapes were then macerated for about 20 hours to obtain fresher musts with tropical notes and an excellent balance. A slow fermentation at low temperatures carried on for several weeks.
TASTING NOTE: Pale yellow with greenish hues. On the nose notes of green peaches and lemon peel appear with grass and mineral tones. Very fresh and upfront flavours that a re very expressive and with a long mouthfeel sensation with unmistakably saltiness and eucalyptus hues of Mar de Frades.
SERVING AND PAIRING: Ideal serving temperature between 8ºC and 10ºC (when the blue ship appears on the label). A marvellous companion to fish and seafood dishes, such as scallops or oysters.
